made by hand.
part II
…
this dress pictured here is by miss jill aiko yee. i appreciate the big blooms & the dress’s structure & functionality, but most of all whenever i wear it i feel happy knowing that it was a piece handmade by jill herself.
for her second collection, she devised a line of practical, pocket-filled pieces. my favorite, of course, is the series of apron dresses. think dvf’s famous wrap dress, but with a dual apron twist plus four (4) pockets. the apron dress may either be tied at back for two (2) handy-sized pockets, or tied at front to reveal two (2) generous-sized ones. the twirl factor of this dress is pretty great as well (often-times this is a very important factor in my dress decision-making).
the rest of her collection may be viewed here, & the bits that inspire her there.
now that you’ve moved into the new studio, i’m expecting high levels of productivity, jill <3
